OUR PROGRAMS - FAITH IN ACTION

The Knights of Columbus offers men a place to lead their families and communities in faith and service and put their Faith into Action!

 

In the opening lines of Evangelii Gaudium (The Joy of the Gospel), His Holiness Pope Francis invites “Christians, everywhere, at this very moment, to a renewed personal encounter with Jesus Christ”. The Faith in Action program extends that same invitation to Knights of Columbus members and their families. It is a renewed personal invitation to live out the calling of your faith, the call to the service of your neighbour, and to answer the age-old question, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” (Genesis 4:9)

People In Church

FAITH PROGRAMS

Our goal is to strengthen men and their families in the Catholic faith. Formation in our faith goes beyond mere facts or religious practice to an authentic connection with a loving God and his son Jesus Christ.

Some of our Faith Programs include:

​

  • Holy Hours at St. Mark

  • Catholic Faith Formation programs for men, such as Into the Breach and That Man Is You

  • Corpus Christi Procession (June)

  • St. Michael the Archangel Prayer Card Handout

  • Parish Ushering throughout the year

FAMILY PROGRAMS

Father McGivney sought to strengthen the bonds of families in his parish and the Knights of Columbus. These programs, created for families by families, help us to live this call.

Some of our council's family programs include:

​

  • Consecration to the Holy Family (December)

  • Keep Christ in Christmas Cards

  • Food For Families - Food Drives to Support Needy Families in Stouffville

  • Good Friday Family Promotion

COMMUNITY PROGRAMS

Knights are called to serve others. Our first principle is Charity – at home with our families and in our communities. When Knights of Columbus members come together, they accomplish great things.

Some of our council's community programs include:

​

  • Strawberry Festival Strawberries and Ice Cream Sale (Canada Day Weekend)

  • Colombian Squires Circle for young men aged 10-18

  • Basketball Free Throw Competition (Stouffville Public and Catholic Schools)

  • Coats For Kids

  • Partnership with St. Vincent De Paul

LIFE PROGRAMS

The Knights of Columbus vigorously defend the dignity of each human being at every stage of life.

​

Some of our council's life programs include:

​

  • Sponsorship of a Christian student in the Holy Land (Jerusalem Students)

  • Novena for Life (May)

  • March for Life

  • Widow Poinsettias
